NANUK 990 Hard Case Description

Just arrived in the Nanuk Collection, the new Nanuk 990 rifle and machine gun case is now available to order on hardcases.ca.

This large case is 47.1" long and is perfect for your next hunting trip or to impress at the shooting range. It also has two handles and a set of durable polyurethane wheels to help carry heavier items.

Some of you will also use this case for light stands, tripods or longer items like a camera slider. Whatever type of use, the Nanuk 990 will stand the test of though hits, rain and dust.

Fans of guns will use the Nanuk 990 case for their rifles, shotguns or any longer gun like a Remington. We also have a new Nanuk 990 AR with a custom hard foam that is pre-cut for this automatic weapon.

Designed and Made in Canada, you will not go unnoticed with this big boy. You can also checkout his bigger brother the Nanuk 995.

Note that the foam option is a full foam and not a pick and pluck cube foam like our other cases. That means you will need to use a foam cutter or a sharp X-acto to create your foam shapes.

Nice Case (990 OD Green)

50% happy with my terrible foam cutting job, 100% happy with the new home for my Rem700. Solid case, strong latches, great color.

Electronics protection

I like this 990 size since it fits laterally in my truck bed and will be used to protect my inverter, dc to dc charger and ham radio equipment from the elements, including dust, rain and snow. I may purchase a second 990, for additional equipment, since they are stackable.

Nanuk 990 Case

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He was very happy and impressed with his case. It’s very well made, not cheap plastic, great seal and latches are good quality. It was worth the money and I received it very quickly.

Strong, good design, and Canadian!

This case is very nice in its contruction, and I can't get over how good it feels. Fits my items well and the wheels are very smooth rolling. The latches are a better design than ones used on other protective cases in my experience. The best part to me also has to be the Canadian stamp. This detail certainly steered me towards this line of cases and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Definitely recommend this case for people who want something that is genuinely sturdy and will protect your gear.

Nanuk 990 for Storage of Fireams

I managed to cut the foam and fit 2 rifles and a shotgun (that could be disassembled) in the Nanuk 990 case. Everything is held tightly in place. I purchased 4 padlocks (single key) and along with the 2 built-in case locks and the trigger locks, everything is very secure. In the summer, I can use the case to transport my firearms to my cottage property. So, that’s why I purchased it – to safely store and transport firearms. And the Nanuk 990 is ideal for this.

Great case, tricky hinge.

I bought the Nanuk 990 for use as a road case for mobile electronic music performances.With some custom foam it holds a pair of sequencer/samplers and an analog synth permanently wired together to open, plug in and perform. It's kept my gear mostly safe and dry through a few road trips and outdoor performances now.

Except for one time I was stuck in sudden rain, trying to get the hinge pins back into the case so I could close it and cart it off.

My main problem with it so far has been lid removal. The info sheet for this model says the lid is removable, but my experience is this really means "removable in 5-10 minutes, with a lot of yanking, if you have pliers." The hinges and hinge pins are not really designed for easy removal and replacement by hand, and that's something I was hoping for when shopping for a performance case. I'll experiment with sanding the pins down or replacing them with thinner ones, but for the price I wish that wasn't necessary
